Time is money, right? That’s why I like to save as much of it as I can.
These are the most commonly asked questions that I’ve encountered while working with clients, and the quickest and clearest answers.
If there are any questions you might have that aren’t addressed here, please don’t hesitate to send me an email.
Why should I hire a freelance writer instead of using a content mill?
Content mills tend to offer copy that is pulled from a large “pool” of writing that was previously created.
Freelance writers provide custom content to their clients, creating copy that is fresh and unique to each individual client.
Why should I hire you vs. another writer?
I bring corporate commercial writing expertise to the table that few freelancers have had the opportunity to experience.
In my pre-freelancer life, I worked in administration and management, as well as handling the high-level marketing and branding work for a large charitable organization.
You can learn more about my skills and experience when you connect with me on LinkedIn.
What writing services do you provide?
I’ve written all kinds of copy for my clients, including blog posts, web page content, SEO articles, and online guides.
You can learn more about my content creation skills by checking out my writing services page.
What type of clients do you work with?
I’ve worked with a wide variety of clients, most of which fall into two categories.
The first category of clients that I have worked with is marketing and SEO agencies. These firms subcontract the writing needs of their clients out to me, and they make up a large portion of my client base.
The second group of clients that I work with is business owners. This category is extremely diverse, ranging from e-commerce and retail companies to law firms and real estate agents, and up to and including pet care companies and veterinary hospitals.
How much do you charge?
I believe in quoting each project individually because every project is unique.
As a freelancer working from my home office, my overhead costs are minimal, allowing me to keep the prices for my writing services competitively low.
I prefer to charge by the project, not the hour. This allows me to focus on results, not the clock, and deliver a stellar ROI to my clients.

What are your terms?
I typically require a deposit of 50% of the quoted project cost before beginning work, with the balance due upon submission and acceptance.
After we’ve finished the first few writing projects together, I’m more than happy to discuss credit terms until project completion.
What types of payment do you accept?
I accept company checks and electronic payments via PayPal.
Even if you don’t have a PayPal account, you can easily pay with your checking account or major credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) using the PayPal invoice that I will send you by email.
Bank wire transfers are also accepted within the United States. Please contact me to discuss the ACH payment process.
How would you describe your writing style and process?
Most of the writing that I do for clients falls under the category of B2C copywriting, although I have worked with B2B companies to fulfill their writing needs, as well.
Of course, I don’t take on every project that comes my way. I believe in delivering the best work possible, and the only way to do that is to chat with potential clients about their needs before beginning any work. If I’m not a good fit for your project, I promise to be upfront with you and let you know.
I strive to be engaging and conversational with my writing voice, although I have worked with clients that require a bit more of a formal, educational tone.
The best way to get an idea of my writing abilities is to check out some of my work for yourself.
Do you work with clients on a long-term basis?
Absolutely! Some of my clients have been with me since I began freelancing, and working with them on a continual basis has led to huge successes for us both.
One of the best parts about creating a lasting relationship with my clients is knowing that I am there for them for whatever new writing project that might pop up. They don’t have to worry about researching and vetting another writer — they just have to reach out to their writer.
What happens if I don’t like the first draft?
First drafts are really just the starting point of a thorough and successful writing project, although I do pride myself on delivering my best work the first time around.
All it takes to get the results that you are after is feedback, and the second draft will be laser-focused, on-point, and the final draft that you were looking for. I guarantee it.
What if I already have a rough draft, and it just needs polishing?
No problem! I provide copyediting and proofing services in addition to freelance copywriting and blogging.
Let me take a look at what you already have, and I’ll give you a quote for turning it into the polished and professional piece of writing that you were striving for, to begin with.
If I take a look at the piece, and there’s nothing that I can do to improve it, I’ll let you know and there will be no charge for the service. Simple as that.
How soon can you get started with my project?
I’m ready when you are! Give me a shout, and we can discuss getting started ASAP.
I like to make sure that all of my clients are getting the excellent content that they need to succeed — on their schedule.
If you’re working with a tight deadline, just let me know before we begin, and I will do my very best to make sure that your project gets top priority.
How long is your turnaround time?
I was raised with an old-school work ethic and I’m religious about deadlines.
Most of my clients are pretty darn impressed by how quickly I get their writing project completed, without sacrificing the quality of the content.
At the start of your project, I’ll give you an estimated completion date, and will deliver your content to you on time and error-free. Guaranteed.
Are you willing to sign a non-disclosure or non-compete agreement?
Absolutely. Send me the necessary papers, and I will sign and return them immediately. However, you should know that I pride myself on my morals and strong code of ethics. It’s just how I roll.
Who owns the copy that you write for your clients?
Every bit of writing that I do is a custom job. That means you own it, kit and caboodle. You can use it for whatever you like, and I will never give it to anyone else.
How do we get started collaborating on my writing project?
Let’s talk! We’ll work out the best approach together, and there’s no commitment to work with me until we’ve agreed on project terms.
I’m looking forward to getting started. Thank you for letting me be your writer!
